About Us

The Sigma Trust is a local partnership of academies in North East Essex and consists of eight secondary schools and four primary schools. In addition, the Trust has an enhanced provision and an Initial Teacher Training Programme. The Trust consists of over 11,000 pupils, approximately 1600 staff and trains around 60 primary and secondary ECTs each year.

To be ‘Greater Than The Sum Of Its Parts’ represents the mission statement for Sigma Trust and we believe we are stronger and more successful working together than we would be as separate institutions. We have a vision to ensure that all of our academies are at least ‘Good’ with strong and improving outcomes and are able to demonstrate outstanding provision.

Our belief is that achievement is for all and that no child should be left behind. Education should foster in its learners a curiosity to discover who they are and what they are capable of, together with developing the resilience for them to test the boundaries of their abilities and to build the skills necessary to face the future with confidence.

What it’s like to work for us?

Regardless of what role you perform with the Trust, you will have a unique opportunity to really make a difference and help shape the lives and futures of our students. We are passionate about giving all of our students the very best start in life and this shines through in everything we do.

At the Sigma Trust, we care not only about our students but also about our staff, as without a supported and engaged workforce, we cannot achieve our mission and vision. You can expect an environment where we will support you with, but also encourage you to think about, your own continuous professional development to allow you to thrive. We are also continuing to develop our wellbeing programme and initiatives across the Trust and this approach underpins our commitment to ensuring we provide staff with a great place to work.

As the largest multi-academy trust in Essex, our schools are all geographically close in proximity to ensure that we are able to both give and receive support to and from one another, with the same core principles and beliefs. As a single employer we work hard to ensure consistency of processes and practices, recognise continuous service, follow national Conditions of Service and employees are encouraged to develop with opportunities to work across more than one school.
