About Us

Rowan Alba is a charity founded in Edinburgh in 2004. We specialise in creating real solutions to homelessness that are effective in ending the misery of repeat for people who have lived on the streets for years. We also run strategically designed services which prevent homelessness in isolated and vulnerable people through compassionate, person-centred support.

Many of the people who work for us have lived experience of the issues we deal with. This means we are committed to the personal and career development of all of our staff through a structured and supportive working environment.

We are dedicated to the highest standards of care for our residents and take a holistic view of their wellbeing which includes activities, diet and personal support. We have developed this combination of Care at Home and Housing Support at our Thorntree St, Homes for Life centre over the past 18 years. It is both effective in ending long-term street homelessness and tackling addiction issues.

We are currently recruiting in Administration roles, Support Workers, Senior Support Workers, Wellbeing & Activity Workers, Team Leaders and Managerial roles.
