About Us

Roundabout is South Yorkshire’s youth homelessness charity. We support more than 370 young people aged 16-25 every day, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Sheffield and Rotherham. We provide wraparound care, safe and secure accommodation and comprehensive programmes of support to promote independence and break the cycles of homelessness. We are a leader in the field of homelessness prevention and believe that every young person deserves the chance to have a bright future, regardless of their start in life.

What it’s like to work for us?

At Roundabout, young people are at the heart of all we do. Whether you’re in finance, admin, marketing or support work, our team are all focused on supporting young people as they progress towards a brighter future.

We celebrate our common goals and values and respect each other’s differences, as that’s what makes us unique. Most of all though, we love what we do as we see first-hand the difference that our work makes. Roundabout staff go the extra mile to help young people and also each other.

“’Being Roundabout’ is a common phrase here that has naturally developed. It’s a heart-warming feeling: a description of who we are and how we act. When a support worker sits for hours with a young person in A&E so they’re not alone, they’re ‘being Roundabout’. When a member of the fundraising team goes on bike rides to spend time with the young people and help them make precious memories, they’re ‘being Roundabout’. It means going that extra mile to make a difference because with the right support network, people are able to make lasting change to their lives. Being Roundabout helps to make that happen.” - Roundabout staff member

The type of jobs we recruit for?

As a youth homeless charity, the majority of the roles that we recruit for are for support workers, including those who work across the region and others who are in our residential projects in Sheffield and Rotherham. Our Support Workers play a vital role in our goal of helping young people reach independence. Working on a one-to-one basis, they tailor the support plan to each young person’s needs, helping them grow in confidence and develop the skills they need to live independently.

As a growing charity, we also recruit in other areas such as administration; finance; fundraising; communications; management and more.
