About Us

Established in 2010, and part of the Orbis Education and Care group of specialist services since April 2021, Priority Childcare specialises in providing – leading care and support for children with needs associated with emotional, behavioural and social difficulties. Children in our care are likely to have experienced developmental trauma or may have felt neglected and unloved for significant periods of their lives. As a result, these periods of trauma may have impacted their physical, social, emotional and cognitive development, and they may have lost the ability to trust adults. They may have lost the confidence in their own abilities to deal with the challenges that life brings.

Priority Childcare homes are staffed by teams of incredibly supportive and experienced carers who build trusting relationships with children and enable them to feel safe, secure and cared for. Children are supported to learn to value themselves and others, as well as learn how to manage difficult emotions such as shame or rage and develop improved problem-solving skills. This can provide the cognitive foundation and confidence to succeed in learning and work. At the same time, children are supported to have fun, make friends and rediscover their self-confidence.

Children are supported to understand their emotional, psychological and physical needs with the support of our carers. Providing them with the right environment for their healing to take place is the primary objective of the Psychological Support Team at Priority Childcare.

We offer a group of small welcoming homes, ranging from solo occupancy accommodation to homes with six rooms comprising of solo flats with a communal house. We are able to offer medium to long term homes for children and young people between the ages of 5 and 19.

What it’s like to work for us?

No day is the same at Priority Childcare, but we make sure both our Support Workers and service users are happy and engaged everyday.
