About Us
North Bristol NHS Trust employs over 12,000 staff providing healthcare to the residents of Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset across a wide range of settings, including our award winning Brunel Building at Southmead Hospital. We are a large local employer with a vast range of roles and career opportunities available for job seekers across the region.With over 350 different roles available in the NHS, in both clinical and non-clinical settings, we are here to support you to find the best for your future career aspirations. We also have temporary and flexible opportunities available through our NBTeXtra bank team.
What it’s like to work for us?
A few benefits to working with us:State of the art building and facilities - Our Brunel Building which opened in 2014, the hospital is designed to allow clinical teams to adapt and change hospital layout dependent on emerging healthcare needs. It also won Best Acute Hospital Development at the 2017 Building Better Healthcare Awards in London and Best Healthcare Design over 25,000sqm at the European Healthcare Awards. With 800 beds of which 75 per cent of beds are in single rooms with en-suite toilet and shower rooms. Each 32-bed ward has 24 single rooms and two four-bed bays. We know that single rooms provide considerable benefits for patients, including control of infection, reducing risk of clinical errors (there are fewer distractions) and allowing privacy.
Excellent apprenticeship training and development pathways - We’re committed to supporting staff (whether clinical or non-clinical) on their career journey with us by offering personalised training packages to suit them.
Excellent Wellbeing programme - We are extremely proud that the Trust has been nominated and won multiple awards for the Health and Wellbeing support available for staff, including:
• NHS Parliamentary Award
• CIPD People Management Awards 2019 - Finalist
• REBA's Employee Wellbeing Awards 2019 Most Improved
• REBA's Employee Wellbeing Awards 2020 - Most Effective Development to a Wellbeing Strategy (Public and Non-Profit sector)
Our Health and Wellbeing programme includes;
• Mental Health Wellbeing Champions and Mental Health First Aiders, providing support if you need it.
• Our Physio Direct Service which gives all staff direct access to a physio consultation by telephone, and further treatment if required, in the Physiotherapy Department in Brunel.
