Support Worker roles. Is a Support Worker the same as a Carer or Health Care Assistant?
Although there are similarities between carers and health care assistants, such as compassion, personal care, and kindness, the role of a support worker is very different compared to those jobs. A support worker is there consistently in someone's life, working alongside them to help them have more control over what happens in their day-to-day. On the other hand, carers or health care assistants usually spend less time with a person, often in a medical setting where the focus is mainly on their physical needs. Support workers get the chance to make a real difference in someone's life by building a stronger relationship with them.
