About Us

ubu provides community-based, health and social care to people with particular needs, including physical, emotional, learning, behavioural, psychological and social difficulties.

We are a specialist Independent living social care and support service. We take a bolder approach than most social care agencies because we are committed to helping people make the best of themselves and the most of their lives. ubu believes that if you treat a person as they are and they will remain as they are. When you treat a person as they could be and they will become as they should be.

We encourage and enable everyone we serve, whatever their ability and background, to have the chance to achieve what they want. And we believe that the best way to help people reach their dreams, is to enable them to achieve independence and take their place as active and respected citizens.

ubu puts the person we are working with at the centre of everything we do. We listen, then we act, facing problems head-on and work to find realistic solutions. Our approach is to offer minimal and unobtrusive support. We are committed to enabling citizenship and to transforming people’s lives.

The type of jobs we recruit for?

Enabling Support Workers - There is no sugar-coated way of saying it - the work we do is complex, emotive, and demanding but it is also incredibly rewarding. We support vulnerable adults with complex needs, learning difficulties and some with physical disabilities.

The people we serve are at the centre of everything we do, and no two people have the same needs, difficulties, challenges, desires, or aspirations. Working with us you will develop highly specialised and adaptable skills, you will learn to think fast, be decisive and adopt an extremely agile ‘can do’ work ethic, you will be constantly learning, absorbing, and applying new approaches quickly and seamlessly, stretching yourself to achieve and succeed.
