The Role



Over the last 18 months, we have reimagined the way we deliver our University IT Services, forming a world-class IT department responsive to the needs of our global community.

The Management Information and Reporting Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the design, implementation and support of reporting processes and tools used throughout NUIT to support and ensure the consistent delivery of NUIT services. Data manipulation skills, experience of producing and maintaining management reports and experience of quality assurance standards will be essential in supporting the governance and reporting activities of the service.

Key Accountabilities



• Assist with the development, dissemination and utilisation of management information reports to ensure that NUIT maintains a consistent and transparent view of its operations, including the quality, availability, utilisation and responsiveness of NUIT services
• Ensure reports are accurate, timely and consistently presented
• Support the production of new or ad-hoc reports to assist with NUIT’s planning, budgeting and required contributions to University-wide reporting
• Assist with the production of learning materials, documentation and standards and support the delivery of training to increase the awareness and acceptance of service management best practice within and outside of NUIT
• Offer and document advice and provide support to customers on all issues related to the team's services
• Provide assistance to colleagues in NUIT and others in the wider University regarding governance and reporting related matters
• Identify areas of service improvement and contribute to improvement activities
• Provide input to internal planning, documentation and change control procedures to ensure the provision of smooth running, resilient and reliable services
• Any other reasonable duties that fall within the scope of the post, as allocated by the line manager



The Person (Essential)



Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Practical experience in an IT governance and role or related discipline, with a clear understanding of IT Service Management principles
• A high standard of written and oral communications
• Ability to solve problems based upon past experience and independent investigative analysis
• Excellent communication skills; the ability to seek out new information and communicate effectively with colleagues
• Capable of independent analysis, judgment and research into all aspects of their area of responsibility
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships and actively collaborate with other staff
• Data manipulation skills with experience of producing and maintaining management reports from an enterprise service management suite
• Experience of maintaining and monitoring quality assurance standards or similar
• Experience in documenting relevant processes using industry-standard tools and techniques

• Relevant professional qualification(s), or practical workplace experience to a similar level
